Cointreau as we know it today was first produced in 1885. After several years of relentless research and experimentations, Edouard Cointreau succeeds in creating what he had imaginated: a perfectly balanced, crystalline liqueur that's three times more concentrated in flavour and less sweet that the liqueurs of the time.
